Today I added a completely open forum for you to either comment on existing questions or ask me question about anything you like to do with the web site, the shop, the service.

The forum is run by UserVoice and opens as an overlay on the main web site. You can activate it by click the ‘Feedback’ tab on the left hand side of the page. Here is an image of what the tab looks like:

You just click the tab and take part – I hope this will lend itself to open comments about my site and service. Some would say this is too risky for business but I am creating an honest group of shops where your views are extremely important, and I want to hear them – you have the opportunity now so please make use of it.

Winner Of the April Free Sock Competition

I have just announced the winner of my monthly competition. This month the winner of the Free Sock Competition is Ian Greaves. Ian bought some socks from us in October 2008 and has used them during his introduction to running, being a beginner he purchased the Run Discovery socks which were a perfect choice.

A perfect choice because being a beginner to the activity it makes sense to be careful with what your spending and also the feature set of the Discovery range is perfect for the level of activity that a beginner might be experiencing.

Here is an excerpt from Ian’s review:

These babies were the cheapest addition to my running wardrobe but they are by far the piece of kit I would not be without

Read the rest of Ian’s review on the X-Socks Run Discovery Socks page here just scroll to the bottom where the Customer Reviews are.

Ian has plans on running greater distances and as such might be looking for some X-Socks higher up the range to cope with the greater demands the feet deal with when on longer distances.

Well done Ian and your free pair will be on their way soon.

Price Increase and Bigger Quanity Discounts Again

Good news and Bad news gang.

Bad news first: I have had to raise prices across the board for all X-Socks. This is for two reasons. Firstly, because the UK Distributor has increased prices and secondly because Royal Mail has increased prices too. So, it was a choice of charging postage or increasing prices – at least this way you don’t get any surprises when you get to the checkout (UK customers get free postage).

Good news next: I have increased the discount when buying multiple pairs of the same model / size / colour. Your quantity discounts are now:

Qty Discount
—————-
2 – 4 6.00%
5 – 7 10.00%
8 – 12 12.00%

Also, of course, I have retained the extra discounts when your order totals more than £50 and more than £100:

>£50 and you get another 5% discount
>£100 and you get another 10% discount

All in all “It’s All Good” as they say.

Have Fun.

Congratulations to Felicity Aston, Jo Vellino, Jenny Pugh and Alexandra Aston who all were on the Marathon De Sables just the other week. I haven’t yet had a chance to chat to them to get all the ins and outs but suffice to say they all did very well indeed on what has become to be known as the toughest footrace in the world.

I have got some photos here set up in a Flickr Set: enjoy -

More to come on this one.

So, I’ve had a lot of phone calls (office number is: 020 8123 2781) and a lot of emails and tweets (@buyXsocks) asking about how to wash and wear your wonderful X-Socks. At first I thought, “How to wear socks?” then it dawned on me that most customers haven’t been trained in the ancient art of Sock Donning.

As an X-Socks retailer of course I have been trained in how to wear and wash these fantastic foot coverings and while at first it might seem simple it is seriously really important to pop them on correctly to get the most out of your training. And as the actual training is the most important thing let’s make sure we can do all we can to enhance it.

Please download my (new smaller in size) guides to wearing and washing your X-Socks:

=> How to wear your X-Socks (600kb PDF, it’s only small)
=> Here’s the short URL too: http://ow.ly/3xmg

=> How to wash your X-Socks (120kb, again very small)

So there you go, if you’ve any questions please just let me know using any contact method possible:

An avid Twitter’er Patrick Avis is running this years London Marathon. Now that’s hard enough as it is but seeing as Patrick has fought through 2 coma’s and is now a diabetic it makes it even more amazing that Patrick will be running such a long distance.

March sock winner chooses awesome prize

I just got word back from my March 2009 winner of the sock review competition and he has requested an awesome pair of socks as his prize. He is a runner and has chosen the fabulous Evo Run Socks (Run Evolution).

The Evo Run Socks are an awesome pair of dual layer socks. The dual layer is a method of reducing friction on your feet.

I am looking forward to hearing Garry’s comments once he has had a chance to use the Evo Run Socks.
